2026-27 Top Level Team Info

Hello 11U Turning 12U Families. Hopefully you and your family are having a good summer.

2026-27 12U Teams: Turning 12U is a big deal as it means it is Cooperstown. We expect to have two 12U Teams in 2026-27, however that will ultimately be determined by the continued tryouts we are hosting over the summer. We’ve had a very large turnout in May and June and if that continues in July and August we expect we will have two teams. In the event we have two teams, we have “penciled” Steve Hoye to coach the Cooperstown Elite team and Jaime Gutierrez (this years 2026 Cooperstown 12U Select team head coach), coach the Cooperstown Select Team. Team selections occur in August (A La Carte Open Practices and Scrimmages) and September (Invited players to teams only) when the coaches will be able to evaluate all the 12U players. Coaches will then work with parents on what team best fits the players development.

Cooperstown Info: We have been sending teams to Cooperstown for 15 years now (with both Top Level and LA Xtreme), sending over 35 teams over that time including this year where we have 2 teams going in August. We have already reserved and paid for two teams in the summer of 2027 (July 23-29, July 29-Aug.4). Dates will be selected at the Cooperstown Meeting (See Below).

2026-27 Cooperstown Info: The first Cooperstown meeting will be held on Sunday evening Sept. 27th at Clover where initial commitments, date selection and first Deposits ($100) will be collected.

Roster Spot Confirmation

Players who confirm a roster spot by the July 20th will be guaranteed a roster spot for the upcoming 2026-27. Open roster spots will then be distributed to players after the July 20th tryout, so any returning player who hasn’t confirmed a roster spot, could potentially lose their roster spot to a new player from tryouts. Returning players who confirm a roster spot will pay a $100 non-refundable deposit with the registration/insurance balance due at Signing Day on Sunday September 27.

2026-27 Team Structure

Top Level 12U Teams run from September though their Cooperstown Date at the end of July. Top Level teams typically have 2 practices per week (one fielding and one batting cage). At the end of July and into August, Top Level will offer optional A La Carte Open Practices and Scrimmage Games. Teams will start up in September after Labor Day with teams practicing and scrimmaging together. Rosters will be set at the end of September when teams will enter into competitive play. Teams typically play in a Sunday League DoubleHeaders two times per month, one tournament per month and have one weekend off based on team and coach availability. Practice Days/Times aren’t set until teams are set in September and provide the coaches with their best days/times for practices. Practices are then penciled out at the coach’s meeting that evening.

Locations of Practices/Tournaments

  • Field Practices: Santa Monica areas: PenMar, Clover, Marine (SM), Memorial Park (SM), JAMS (SM)

  • Batting Cages: Pacific Coast in WLA, 2020 Stoner Ave (near 405 and 10 fwy)

  • Sunday League Double Headers: Typically in Encino, West Hills, Santa Clarita, Camarillo or Simi Valley

  • Local Tournaments: Farthest Local Tournaments will be Great Park in Orange County to the South, Jurupa Valley Big League Dreams Park in the East, Santa Clarita Hart Complex in the North and Camarillo to the North-West.

Out of State Tournaments: We expect our 10U teams to enter the Las Vegas and Arizona tournaments, based on availability. 8/9U teams will be determined based on the level of commitment from the team.

  • Las Vegas: Over Veteran’s Day in November or President’s Day in February

  • Arizona: During MLB Spring Training in mid to late March

  • 12U Cooperstown: 12U teams go to Cooperstown in the Summer and not Omaha

  • Other Potential Out of State/Area Tournaments: Some teams opt to do Omaha World Series (June), Hawaii (July). Typically 12U teams do not do Omaha or Hawaii as they are doing Cooperstown.

Team Dues:

  • Team Practice Monthly Dues: Players that receive and accept an invite will pay a $100 Deposit (July) and a $295 final balance one-time Annual Registration/Insurance Fee (August). Monthly Team Practice Dues: $395 for Select, Elite Teams, $495 Coach Beckerman Pali-Blue Team.

  • Tournaments/Game Fees: Range from $55/game for 9U and Gold Teams, $60/game for Select & Elite Teams, $65/game for 14U National, $75/game for Coach Beckerman Pali-Blue games. *Please Note, Perfect Game, NCS Tournaments are more expensive tournaments to enter and an additional $20/player is added onto the tournament fees. 3-Day, Out of Town (Las Vegas typically $395, Arizona typically $495, but adjust based on number of players and games played) as they have higher travel, tournament and coaches expenses.

Structure of Teams:

  • Coaches: Teams will have at least 1 to 2 Paid Travel Ball Coach at practices and games (based on coaches availability). There will be no dad coaches unless the team’s coach needs some help. *Please note: Teams are not guaranteed to have two paid coaches. Last minute coaches cancellations, multiple coaching absences, etc do occur. On occasion teams may have a 3rd coach. Top Level’s goal is to have 2 paid coaches, at their practice and games, but 1, 2 or 3 do occur.

  • Game Schedule: Teams will be polled for availability and based on the roster availability and strength, the team will be entered into Tournament/Games accordingly. Times & Locations of Tournaments/Game are not released until the Wed or Thursday prior to the weekend games. The farther out families fill out their availability the earlier the team can receive a game schedule.

  • Roster Selection: Each Top Level Coach is responsible for selecting their Roster and will use players level of interest of returning players and new players from tryouts to finalize their roster by late September. Rosters can range from 11 players to 16 players with Alternates.

  • Practice/Alternate Player: Players can be invited as a Practice/Alternate player in which they will be invited to all practices, but will only be invited to games if the team is short. Practice/Alternate Players pay the full monthly team practice fee.
