Top Level Team Info
Top Level offers 19 teams in the 2024-25 Season starting at 8/9U and going all the way through 18U High School. Below is information about joining a Top Level Team along with a level of interest form. Congratulations once again and we look forward to your player and family joining Top Level.
2024/25 Top Level Team Info:
Teams run from September though typically June or July. Teams typically have 2 practices per week (one fielding and one batting cages). Teams typically play in a Sunday League DoubleHeader two times per week, one tournament per week and have one weekend off based on team and coach availability.
Practices (Field, Batting Cages, Pitching / Strength & Conditioning): Top Level Teams will have on average 2 practices per week (Weather permitting & not including Holiday’s). Please contact the coach/team you were invited by as to their current practice schedule. Please note that practices schedules can and do change based on permit and field availability. Typically the biggest change is at the beginning of Fall and then in Spring (Feb/Mar) when the City has different days/times available.
Tournaments/Games: Teams will receive their game/tournament schedule for the year in mid-September with games during the month typically including (2) Sunday League Doubleheaders, (1) Weekend Tournament & 1 Weekend Off. *Initial schedules will be adjusted according to player/coaches availability, weather conditions, etc.
Locations of Practices/Tournaments
Field Practices: Santa Monica areas: PenMar, Clover, Marine (SM), Memorial Park (SM), WLA LL and/or SAMO High.
Batting Cages: Pacific Coast in WLA at 2020 Stoner Ave (near 405 and 10 fwy)
Sunday League Double Headers: Typically in Encino, West Hills, Santa Clarita, Camarillo or Simi Valley
Local Tournaments: Farthest Local Tournaments will be Great Park in Orange County to the South, Jurupa Valley Big League Dreams Park in the East, Santa Clarita Hart Complex in the North and Camarillo to the North-West.
Out of State Tournaments: Teams will typically play in 2-3 out of state Tournaments (Sept - June).
Las Vegas: Over Veteran’s Day in November or President’s Day in February
Arizona: During MLB Spring Training in mid to late March
Omaha: During College World Series
12U Cooperstown: 12U teams go to Cooperstown in the Summer and not Omaha
Team Dues:
Team Practice Monthly Dues: Players that receive and accept an invite will pay a $395 one-time Annual Registration/Insurance Fee. Monthly Team Practice Dues: 2X per week range from $175-$495 per month.
8/9U Team practicing 1X per week ($175) and can opt to do additional batting cages ($45ea).
10U-Elite, 11U-Select, 12U-Select, 13U-Gold, 14U-Gutierrez: $345/month
11U-Elite, 12U-Elite, 13U-Elite, 14U-Corey, 14U-Elite: $395/month
12U-Palisades Blue: $495/month
Tournaments/Game Fees: Range from $45-$75/game. *Perfect Game Tournaments are more expensive as are 3-Day, Out of Town (Las Vegas, Arizona) and World Series events which are adjusted accordingly.
8/9U, 10U-Elite, 11U-Select, 12U-Select, 13U-Gold, 14U-Gutierrez: $45/game*
11U-Elite, 12U-Elite, 13U-Elite, 14U-Corey, 14U-Elite: $55/game*
12U-Blue: $75/game*
Structure of Teams:
Coaches: Teams will have at least 1 to 2 Paid Travel Ball Coach at practices and games (based on coaches availability). There will be no dad coaches unless the team’s coach needs some help. On occasion teams may have a 3rd coach but typically it is at least 1 coach or 2 paid coaches at their practice and games.
Game Schedule: Teams will have Tournament/Games schedules set for Fall (Sept - Dec., typically distributed be mid September) and Spring (January - June, typically distributed by mid January). Times & Locations of Tournaments/Game are not released until the Wed or Thursday prior to the weekend games.
Roster Selection: Each Top Level Coach is responsible for selecting their Roster and will use players level of interest of returning players and new players from tryouts to finalize their roster by late August, early September. Rosters can range from 11 players to 16 players with Alternates.
Practice/Alternate Player: Players can be invited as a Practice/Alternate player in which they will be invited to all practices, but will only be invited to games if the team is short. Practice/Alternate Players pay the full monthly team practice fee.
