Top Level Dedication

Top Level is a full youth-to-high school baseball academy with over 20 travel teams, ranging from 8/9U through high school. Our mission extends beyond baseball as we are committed to developing future CEOs, entrepreneurs, doctors, screenwriters, and other high-level professionals develop their baseball skills to help them with playing at top academic institutions.

We provide a competitive environment where players train alongside other players who share the same goals and achieving success both on the field and in the classroom. To ensure fairness and integrity, Top Level strives to hires high-quality professional coaches, thereby eliminating the bias often found where lineups are influenced by a coach’s or board member’s child.

At Top Level, we use the lessons of baseball to prepare players for high school and beyond. We emphasize that failure is not something to fear, but an essential part of growth. Through hard work, grit, grind and personal accountability, we look to help teach players what it takes to push beyond limits and achieve their goals.

Unlike programs that focus on baseball only, Top Level truly strives to help its players use the game of baseball to play at a high level in high school and potentially use baseball as a pathway to open doors at leading academic institutions.

Since launching in 2021 with just four teams, Top Level has grown to over 20 teams and 250 players today. This growth reflects our dedication to providing the Westside with a high level program, giving players the opportunity to develop their game and prepare for success both in high school and beyond.

Top Level Founders: Eric Beckerman and Zach Smith founded Top Level in 2020.

  • Coach Eric Beckerman (Crossroads High School Varsity Head Coach) : Eric’s Baseball background starts from WLA Little League at age 8 to a 2X All-League player at Palisades High School, Eric took his baseball skills to the University of Arizona his Freshman Year where he would redshirt and and then transfer to the University of Wisconsin for his final collegiate baseball playing years. Many years later, in 2010, Eric Beckerman founded and ran LA Xtreme for 8 years prior creating one of the premier travel ball programs not only in Southern California but in the entire country, producing some of the top teams and players in the country. It would be very difficult to find a travel ball coach that has been more successful than Coach Beckerman as he has brought 6 teams to Cooperstown and has an astonishing 3 Cooperstown Championships, along with a Championship Runner-Up and finished 9th the other two times. Coach Beckerman teams have won the Florida World Series, Omaha Slumpbusters World Series, and numerous Super NIT, Perfect Game, USA North Carolina and other National Invitational Tournaments. Coach Beckerman took his travel ball coaching to High School in 2019 at Crossroads, where he has led the school back to a respectable and competitive program. Despite Crossroads not having made playoffs in 10 years and not winning a playoff game or league in 15 years, Coach Beckerman has been able to led Crossroads to 3 playoff appearances in his 5 years (the first time in 25 years at Crossroads), while also winning league (first time in 15 years) and in playoffs (first time in 15 years). Coach Beckerman runs the 14 and Under teams at Top Level and currently coaches the 13U-Pali Blue Team for the 2025-26 Season.

  • Coach Zach Smith is one of, if not the premier pitching coach in the Southern California area working with top Division 1 High School, College and Pro pitchers. Coach Zach played his collegiate ball at the University of Hawaii Pacific. Coach Zach then learned pitching bio-mechanics by working at the Ranch in Texas, before settling in Southern California. Coach Zach coaches at LA Xtreme and was the Pitching Coach at Crossroads High School, before his popularity as a pitching coach spread quickly to where he now spends his full time as a High Level Pitching Instructor while also running the Top Level High School Program, and Summer Velo Lab.
